Have you heard about the “Drawdown Diet”?

Have you heard about the “Drawdown Diet”? Starting this weekend, U.S. Marines deployed to Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan will lose their midnight ration service — aka “midrats” — which provide breakfast to Marines going onto a shift and dinner for those coming off one.

These cutbacks mean that the take-and-go food items provided in our care packages might help make all the difference for these service members. Please check out our Amazon.com wish list and make a donation today: http://amzn.com/w/FY2O3UG2PNSG

Breakfast To Go CollageIf you’re wondering about our “Wish List,” please read this earlier blog post to learn more.

Want to collect donations and send them yourself? Be sure to take time to review our important Shipping and Donation Information and download a Donation Form to include with the packages you send.

As always, THANK YOU for your support!

About Operation Gratitude

Operation Gratitude annually sends 200,000+ care packages to Veterans, First Responders, New Recruits, Wounded Heroes, their Care Givers, and to individually named U.S. service members deployed overseas and their families waiting at home. Each package is filled with food, entertainment, hygiene and hand-made items, as well as personal letters of support. Our mission is to lift the spirits and meet the evolving needs of the Military and First Responder communities, and provide volunteer opportunities for civilians anywhere in America to express their appreciation to all who serve our nation. Each package contains donated product valued between $45 and $100 and costs our organization $15 to assemble and ship. Since its inception in 2003, Operation Gratitude volunteers have shipped more than 1.6 Million Care Packages.

Seriously? Not the place to cut budgets. Good grief. Thank you for the heads-up.
