January Days of Service

In honor of the “National Day of Service” we are opening the Operation Gratitude facility in Van Nuys, CA to all volunteers (12 years and older) for two special days:
Saturday January 15, 2011 from 9am to 4pm
Monday January 17, 2011 from 9am to 4pm

Both days will entail labeling packages, prep work, sorting, logging in, inventory, storing product for the spring and clean-up.   Snacks and water will be available;  please bring your own sack lunches if you plan to stay all day.

We have a lot of work to do, so join us on both days if possible! Please email us Info@OperationGratitude.com to let us know if you will join us.

In addition, we need volunteer help during the week all through January.   Regular schedule will be in effect: Monday and Friday from 9-4 and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 12-4.

The full schedule for the spring Patriotic Drive, 2011 will be posted in January.

2010 was a very productive year–let’s rally one more time to ensure that every service member whose name we receive can get one of our packages, and to prepare the armory for another year of our activities!  Your efforts and dedication will bring smiles to thousands of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines deployed far from home, in harm’s way.
YOU are making a difference!

Thank you!!

About Operation Gratitude

Operation Gratitude annually sends 200,000+ care packages to Veterans, First Responders, New Recruits, Wounded Heroes, their Care Givers, and to individually named U.S. service members deployed overseas and their families waiting at home. Each package is filled with food, entertainment, hygiene and hand-made items, as well as personal letters of support. Our mission is to lift the spirits and meet the evolving needs of the Military and First Responder communities, and provide volunteer opportunities for civilians anywhere in America to express their appreciation to all who serve our nation. Each package contains donated product valued between $45 and $100 and costs our organization $15 to assemble and ship. Since its inception in 2003, Operation Gratitude volunteers have shipped more than 1.6 Million Care Packages.
