…Caring for the Care Givers…

In recognition of their sacrifiRB2ce and devotion, Operation Gratitude sends special greetings and appreciation to wives, mothers, daughters and sisters who are caring for their wounded warriors. Partnering with REDBOOK Magazine and several generous sponsors, including Yankee Candle, Old Navy, OPI, Hickory Farms, Stumptown Coffee Roasters, The Pampered Chef, Bath & Body Works — and many more — Operation  Gratitude’s “Care Packages for Care Givers” Program encourages these women to take care of and pamper themselves.

Recently, Operation Gratitude’s Director of Strategic Operations, John Adams, was interviewed about the Care Giver program:

And the packages are making a difference! From one grateful recipient:

Orlando VA1I was lucky enough to be a recipient of a Wounded Warrior Care Giver package yesterday and in it was a pretty pink neck scarf with fringe.

I wanted to say thank you for such a nice gift and to let you know how good it feels to be appreciated.

I love my daughter but it has been a hard road since she got out of Walter Reed. We are doing fine and little delights like the package I received yesterday warms my heart. Thank you.

Going forward we will customize Care Giver packages for Male Care Givers: Fathers, Redbook pic3husbands, sons and brothers, too.

Currently, most distribution is being handled through VA facilities, but if you know a deserving Care Giver, please email Carolyn@OperationGratitude.com

About Operation Gratitude

Operation Gratitude annually sends 100,000 care packages filled with snacks, toiletries, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation addressed to individually named U.S. Service Members deployed in harm's way, to their Children left behind, and to Veterans, Wounded Warriors and First responders. Our mission is to lift morale, bring a smile to a service member's face and express to our our Military and their families the appreciation and support of the American people. Operation Gratitude receives the names of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines from commanders in the field who see the positive impact of care packages on their troops' morale. Each package contains donated product valued at $75-100 and costs the organization $15 to assemble and ship. For safety and security, assembling of packages occurs at the Army National Guard armory in Van Nuys, California. Since its inception in 2003, Operation Gratitude has shipped more than 900,000 packages to American Military and their families.
