Hickory Farms for the Holidays

On Sunday, October 28, hundreds of volunteers joined us at the armory to assemble and ship our first 2012 Holiday Drive care packages. We had a lot of fun, and  enjoyed visits from some special guests: Actors Joe Mantegna, above — and Anthony Anderson, right – among them! See all the photos here: Holiday Drive 2012 — 10/28 Assembly Day.  PLUS–we worked hard: More than 7,900 care packages are now on their way to deployed troops serving in harm’s way.

We are grateful for the many years of generous support from our volunteers and donors.  This year, there is a new and very special way you can help us put a smile on every service member’s face, no matter where you live:

During the month of November, purchase one of three Hickory Farms gifts in-store or online, and Hickory Farms will donate a 10oz. Summer Sausage to Operation Gratitude! Gifts included are Beef Hearty Hickory, Summer Sausage and Cheese and Home for the Holidays.  (Max. donation:  $400,000 ARV valid through 11/30/12.)

Plus, if you “Like” its page on Facebook during the month of November, Hickory Farms will donate $.10 to Operation Gratitude (Max. donation $10,000 valid through 11/30/12).  Please ask all your friends to “Like” the page too — those dimes will add up fast and make a huge difference for our Military!

These are such simple ways to support the troops this holiday season! As the year draws to a close, please also consider making a tax-deductible donation directly to Operation Gratitude: Donate Online

Every $15 helps pay our assembly and shipping costs to send another care package!

As always…THANK YOU for your help!

About Operation Gratitude

Operation Gratitude annually sends 100,000+ care packages filled with snacks, entertainment, hygiene and hand-made items, plus personal letters of appreciation to Veterans, New Recruits, First Responders, Wounded Warriors, Care Givers and to individually named U.S. Service Members deployed overseas. Our mission is to lift the spirits and meet the evolving needs of our Active Duty and Veteran communities, and provide volunteer opportunities for all Americans to say "Thank You" to members of our Military. Each package contains donated product valued at $75-100 and costs the organization $15 to assemble and ship. Since its inception in 2003, Operation Gratitude volunteers have shipped more than One Million Care Packages.
